Meet Drew

Hi, my name is Drew Ramsey and I am proud to be a resident of Spanish Fort.  I am currently running for City Council in District 3 in an effort to ensure that Spanish Fort, and District 3 in particular, will grow and thrive like we all know it can.  My wife, Brittany, and I moved to Spanish Fort in 2020 with our two sons, George (14) and Sam (13), and we love it here. My hobbies are hunting, offshore fishing and playing golf with my sons.  As a husband, father, and active member of our local business and civic community, I bring an energetic commitment to smart residential growth, fiscal responsibility, improved commercial growth and preserving the quality of life and beautiful natural environment that make Spanish Fort special.

As a young man, I served in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper and Scout Team Leader at Ft Bragg, NC in the 82nd Airborne Division.  After being honorably discharged from the Army, I attended and graduated from Troy University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration / Finance.  Upon graduation from Troy, I accepted a position in the Business Valuation Group of BDO Seidman LLP, Accountants and Consultants in midtown Manhattan, New York City where I worked from 2001 - 2005.  I really enjoyed the experience of living in NYC but my Home is in Alabama, so I left NYC and made my way back to Tuscaloosa, where I earned a Master of Science in Business / Operations Management degree.  After graduating from the University of Alabama, I changed careers and got into construction, which led to my current occupation as owner of Azalea Home and Custom Furniture, a thriving custom cabinetry and woodworking business located in Midtown Mobile, primarily serving the Mobile / Baldwin County Area.  

For the past thirty years, I have worked collaboratively to find practical solutions, build relationships, and grow businesses. I am a leader rooted in service and guided by core values of loyalty, honor, fairness, and a desire to leave everyone and everything in my path better in some way for the occurrence. 

I believe in listening to constituents, advocating for families and businesses, and planning wisely for Spanish Fort’s future. I'm running because District 3 deserves an energetic voice who will stand up, speak up, and show up when needed!
